Got to Fountain Sq. Lucky to get the last table at Bar Espana. The other open bars had customers, but not full. Enjoyed the aubergines, malaguena salad and chicken wings. Stayed in last night! May do the same tonight.
Tuesday and Wednesday have been "dry" days for me so will be going for a few beers this afternoon and maybe a quiz.

Friday - great weather. I took my book to Paloma Park and read overlooking the lake. What a nice way to spend a couple of hours. Walked down to the paseo looking for somewhere for lunch. Really quiet but South Beach was open. Great tapas, view and service with Victoria on draft. Even better than the morning! Walked through Bonanza Sq on my way back - a few in around Brians and Hazy Days - good to see. Yesterday afternoon doing the quiz in the Paddy, which had a good turn out but finished too late to eat out. This curfew/covid has lots to answer for.
My flight for Sunday looks like it will be running.

Sounds like a lovely day out.
We've never been disappointed with Southbeach, The food has always been excellent and if you get the soft chairs afterwards it's nice to sit on for a coffee or drink.
I'd hate to be a bar owner with all this going on. They must be stressed to the limit as everything seems to be going against them. Let's hope they can all pull through.
Enjoy your last day tomorrow Chawky and safe flight home on Sunday ( hopefully).

Enjoyed reading your travel report Chawky, great weather was good for you to get out and about, we love spending a few hours in Fountain Sq with tapas & bottle of vino, then walk around to Granier for cake & coffee Have you heard any news while there about Spain rolling out a Covid Vaccine yet? the new requirement 'no entry' unless you have proof of negative Covid test sounds good, but problems getting one 48/72 hrs before your flight will prove difficult, and with so many flights being moved or cancelled you could end up with a bill of £150, negative test, and no flight Robert pleased you have new Tesco contract, and news looks good for next Friday for your driving school business, here in UK we are wondering if our lock down will get extended a further week, although students need to be on the move from Uni on Dec 3rd ?.. Fingers crossed we get a vaccine very soon and next Spring we can travel freely again.. Safe flight home tomorrow Chawky.. Stay Safe..xx

Glad you have been able to have a good, albeit surreal sounding, trip and thanks for giving us a feel for how things are in Benal at the moment. If you think it was quiet there just wait till you get back to Manchester. For now we’ll just keep dreaming about Spain.

A small point to make here. Of the 4 nations that make up the UK, only England is in lockdown. As far as I'm aware, and I may well be wrong, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have some form of restrictions, but they fall short of a full lockdown. Even within these nations, some areas have stronger restrictions than others e.g. there is the possibility of some parts of western Scotland going into full lockdown while the rest of the country has varying levels of restrictions, all of which fall short of a full lockdown.
Great to hear that you are enjoying yourself Chawky, although it reminds me that we haven't made it to Benal this year.

No not heard of vaccine plans over here. The new entry restriction for a recent Covid test is going to be a pain - hope it doesn't last too long.
Cloudy and drizzle for my last day..boo... Didn't stop me having a walk into Arroyo. Bought my granddaughter a plastic pig from Alehop which makes a loud grunt when squeezed. I'll be popular! It reminds me when my parents bought 2 "toy" phones from the lookylooky men to give my 2 then toddlers. They were metal with realistic ringtones. The boys soon worked out to our horror they were lighters. Lucky the house didn't burn down nor anything more serious happen.
Had the Jumbo cod from Halfway Inn - it was huge and really tasty. I walked it off this evening by going back to Arroyo for chestnuts. The stall still doing well.

Ryanair got me home 20 mins early. I'd say plane was just about at half capacity and of course not many on the train - only 4 got on at about midday at Arroyo. It looked to me all scheduled Ryanair flights were operating - hats off to them.
Hoping to make an early 2021 trip, but that is the lap of the Gods and the Spanish and UK govts.

Chawky nice to hear Ryan air still flying to schedule, we have never used them, but may have to next year if Jet2 are not running, with the plane being half empty no stress for you of feeling crammed in also good to hear you are planning an early 2021 flight back again, we are hoping to fly over end of Feb if Boris lets us out and Sanchez lets us in have already been sourcing clinics for PCR test.... B.T sorry you are not out there as planned, but hopefully your next trip goes ahead, I have so enjoyed everyone's trip reports over the last few months, when I read them I automatically set my mind to 'picture' mode, which brightens my day Chawky hope the grunting pig made your granddaughter smile x xx
