Great diary Chawky. Glad you seem to be getting around almost like normal. Mrs, L is very happy but has to have more work done in July. ( Think that may be an excuse 🤣) We have apied for Covid passports for our July trip. The news was only released here last night so we're not exactly sure what the benefits are apart from not requiring a PCR test to enter Spain, but hoping that it means we can avoid quarantine on returning home to the U K. Good luck to England later. Another excuse for a few beers Chawky 😂

Thanks Chawky! Good to hear all is well. Has your pool been repaired yet? And are you managing to stay cool? Our cleaner sends us daily reports of the temperatures, bless him! I am hearing and reading stories about the Police stopping taxis out of Malaga airport and checking whether the passengers have a valid reason to be in Spain, and if not, the police impose a fine. Have you heard anything similar? Hopefully it's scaremongering! Continue to enjoy your holiday! Kind regards, BT.

Back in the Uk. Whilst watching the football on Saturday my son called that my wife had been taken to hospital. I arrived back late last night. Thankfully She is on the mend and will be out in the next couple of days. Visitors aren't allowed in hospital but she will need looking after when she gets out. After the initial panic I booked a flight for Tues evening. On Monday morning I walked up to Cume Clinic on the main road at the top of Ave de Bonanza to book an Antigen test and got a slot a couple of hours later (40 euros). Result within 15 mins. I then booked the 2&8 day tests £99 being the cheapest for postal tests. At least the return was only 17 euros with Ryanair. At the airport I noticed EasyJet had a flight to Manchester 10 minutes after mine. A missed opportunity to use my vouchers or change the flight I had cancelled in June! Some large queues at check in but security was a doddle and through in 2 mins.
I think it is scaremongering,I haven't heard about police stopping taxis. Holidaying is now a valid reason.
The temperature in Spain during the day was high but not too bad at night. It is those warm winds that get you!. The pool has not been fixed and I got no updates. So spent a lot of time at the beach usually going later in the day and staying for the evening and eating on the way back to the apartment. I went to Southbeach for tapas, Potters Lodge for the Ploughmans both excellent. In fact Potters had a reduced menu as they had been so busy that day. Monday was Panda as I knew it would be open after coming off the beach so late. Tuesday was breakfast in Fountain Sq and tapas at El Rincon de Mary in the afternoon.
I got a dentist appointment in but need a couple more next time, went to the bank because they wanted updated documentation and cancelled my visit to the council offices - I may try the email address on another thread.
Rosebush, I checked and yes it was Ardisson we visited for drinks.

Hello all! Chawky, I was so sorry to read about your wife's health scare and hope she is on the mend. Must have been pretty scary for you and the family.
I'm hearing plenty about people returning and being contacted. Last year we received phone calls within 12 hours of arriving home! Good to see the news today about travel restrictions being lifted but I remain apprehensive about airport arrangements in the UK. Glad you enjoyed South Beach and Potters! Again, both are favourites of ours and Karen and Dave at Potters are good hosts.
Chawky, do try to email the Town Hall. Like Robert I emailed them twice (a week apart) but received a quick response after the second one! I supplied names, dob's, Benal address and NIE numbers and stressed that we were unable to travel to Malaga. Wishing your wife a comfortable and quick recovery, and hoping you have honed your caring skills! Fond regards to all, BT.

Thank you, yes she is home and recovering, but still in bed.
I've been called most days but not everyday and no further home visits.
