Home again! Gatwick airport was very busy but all went smoothly, especially for those of us who had paper copies of documents. Malaga a bit different! Long queue for passport control and all forms checked and re-checked. Didn't mind if it keeps us safe. Booked hamacas on the beach tomorrow and going to Boo's Bar for tapas this evening. We are shattered after starting out at 6.30am and will be having a relatively early night!
Our Spanish neighbours are pleased to see us!! I think they have been fed up with so few people in the complex! Take care all, Fond regards, BT.

Lovely day on the beach yesterday. Very busy and very few Brits. We had lunch at a relatively new bar called Coast to Coast, which is on the upper terrace near Drunken Sailor and Panorama. Good tapas and friendly service from Scott! Evening meal (snack, as still full after lunch!) was in Weatherspains which was busy.
The bougainvillea is starting to die off but the hibiscus, jasmine and honeysuckle are all beautiful.
Rosebush.......is your friend Val here??
Fond regards to all,
BT.

Nice to see you are back at your second home its seems forever since our last visit.. Great your neighbours have missed you and pleased to see you back i love the scent of jasmine & honeysuckle, and hibiscus flowers always look so pretty The temps are still too high for me out there, so July & Aug would be a no no....when its reaches 26c, its too hot to walk, hence why our visit is in Spring, need to walk to keep my old joints working and the warm air is ideal.. If you take a stroll 'up hill' during your stay, would love to know if any work as started on the land next to CB's, if so, hoping its finished before end of Feb, or scrapped completely don't want to be near a building site when we arrive.. My dear friend Val is out in Benal again with her lovely daughter, staying for a month, she had problems again with locator forms, even airport staff couldn't help, but let them through with half completed form, and after explanation at Malaga airport they were allowed in I am hoping in Feb all will be simple and if forms still needed I print paper one's Enjoy your day..xxx

Another fabulous beach day! Yesterday we had a nice breeze which was most welcome except to those who had pitched their parasols along the sea front! Lots of parasols somersaulting along the beach with the danger of impaling those not prepared!! Lunch in Saint Tropez and an evening snack in Weatherspains. Today a super lunch in Mare Nostrum. Another nice breeze to keep us comfortable. Tonight we hope to go to Bonanza Bar to see/hear Revival. Those of you who know me will know that hubbie and I are big fans!! Today we met the owner of Mullarkeys who plans to open on Friday 13th. I think he's planning to open for 4 nights only to see how business is. There are still very few Brits here and his bar depends on the Brits (I include Ireland) Fond regards to all, BT.

Rosebush.......The area next to CB's is still barren apart from a few poles sticking out of the ground! Progress is slow!
Had a nice walk to Bonanza Square which, comparatively speaking, was fairly busy. Went to Bonanza Bar to see Revival who never let me down! Only difference at the moment is no dancing.
Housework done.......beach here we come! Fond regards to all, BT.

Saturday already!!! Another breezy day on the beach and more tumbling and twirling parasols! The sea was quite rough and waves came onto the beach soaking towels and picnic bags.
Last night we went to Potters which is always a favourite and yet again, met lovely people. Had a snack in Meson la Cordobesa (in Naciones block) and they have new owners. Cheeky new owners charged 12 Euros for a bottle of (cheap!) white wine!
Lunch today was in South Beach which has hitherto been closed since we arrived and it was so good to be up on that lovely terrace.
Fond regards to all, BT.

I wonder if there's going to be a lot of price rises with owners trying to make up for lost business and there being less competition after all the closures?

There is currently no evidence of price rises in bars and restaurants. We thought there may be but of course it's Spanish holiday time and the Spanish won't tolerate price hikes! It may of course change later in the year but currently all is good!
Lunch at KC Sunshine bar........change out of 25 Euros!

Today is the second cloudy day and the humidity is exhausting!! It also means the washing doesn't dry as quickly!
We continue to enjoy Playa Jose and nice food! Last night was another walk to Las Arenas Sky Bar where we never tire of the view! Dinner at la Perla then home to listen to music.
Shopping this morning.................😣 One of our daughters is coming out soon so it's stocking up time! If I could employ someone to do my shopping my life would be complete!
Fond regards to all,
BT.

monty1.......thank you for your suggestion. However our apartment is 50 yards from our little supermarket which has just about everything we need and I still moan! Quite simply I am not one of life's shoppers!
Yesterday was another humid day and it was nice to get into the pool after a day on the beach. Enjoying "people watching" and reading lots of books. Yesterday evening we wandered to Ole Square for a drink in Saints and Sinners and then a small meal in the Water Margin, which was very busy.
Take care all, Fond regards, BT.

Thanks Robert! We are seeing Revival tomorrow in Bonanza Bar and at Mullarkeys on Saturday!! We now know the owner quite well who said he's going to open for a few nights just to see if he breaks even! We have noticed there are a few more Irish folk here so fingers crossed!
Today was a weird beach day! Relaxing after lunch when a few freak waves hit the beach, soaking towels, bags and anything else in the path of the sea! Most people just carried on with their afternoon with their feet in 6 inches of water! A few who were sleeping didn't have a clue what was going on!! Our beach guy Jose did a brilliant job of building a dam of sand to prevent his beds getting wet!
Another very humid day.
This holiday is going so quickly!
Fond regards to all, BT.

Nice to hear Mullarkey's is going to open for a few days, and you can see your favourite group B.T, hope Bonanza bar do okay too, on F.B did read a few more Brits arrived in the week, maybe more will follow in Sept.. B.T is the heat really over powering, saw warning some parts of Spain will hit 40+ this weekend, i can only cope with around 24c, so July & August a no go for me Thanks for checking out land by CB's, we are really hoping work starts soon there, or project gets abandoned!! Enjoy your day..

Back in Essex in the early hours of this morning (Monday). After the high temperatures in Benal we were feeling pretty chilly at Gatwick!
We did get to see Revival at Mullarkeys and the terrace was full, a bit like pre Covid days! Had our (negative) antigen tests at the Medical Centre near the taxi rank in the Marina where one has to make an appointment. We went in on Friday and were told there were no appointments that day, despite the centre being empty. We could, and did, make appointments for Saturday and there was a long queue of folk who all had appointments. And guess what........the tests are 20 Euros more expensive at the weekend!
Favourite eateries were Saint Tropez, Mare Nostrum, South Beach and La Perla. We went up to Las Arenas sky bar again which was as gorgeous as ever!
Now I look forward to reading others' reports!!!
Fond regards to all,
BT.
