The wind had gone today but it was quite cloudy, but warm and nice to be out.
I cycled to Los Alamos (and back) today, so building up for a longer trip.
Lunched at Potters and as I was in the area checked the plot next to CBs. Not much different from when I was here in September. The heavy machinery has gone just leaving the hole. If you have bought one of the apartments just hold fire on the furnishings for now!

Chawky thankyou for checking out El Rincon, lovely to hear it will re open, don't like to see empty units, think if owner follows same drinks/menu as Maria did, he will get the flow of customers back.. Sounds like you are getting lots of exercise and fresh air on your bike, we like the walk from Torre out to Plaza Mayor nice flat footpaths and roads so hope you enjoyed your day..Longest walk we have done was from Bil Bil to Los Alamos, then it got very hot, so got train back from the station there I see as from yesterday masks are now 'mandatory' so even if paseo is empty early morning, and we could keep our distance from anyone else, we will still have to wear masks, i really don't cope with them so our longs walks, if we go, will not be so much of a pleasure and new cases are rising, but presume that's after effects of the festive season, maybe things will look better end of month, hope you do not have to wear a mask Chawky while cycling Just checked our flight and a further 2 seats booked yesterday, so that's good news Pleased to hear things are at a full stop on the building works, hope they do not start again for months on end! looked online when these apts were first advertised, and it was showing pic's of the Marina and full view out to sea, so anyone thinking of buying would be very disappointed when seeing the actual plot . Looks a bit cool today and windy on the cams, but temps still showing 13c, so enjoy your bike ride where ever you venture here in UK its 2c but full sun and doesn't feel to cold, so off for a stroll..x

Yes cooler today but warmed up a little in the afternoon.
I set off for Malaga on my bike. Once I'd crossed the Guardalhorce it started to rain slightly. I stopped at the first cafe I came to. The rain stopped whilst I had my coffee but as soon I set off again the heavens opened. The Paseo Maritime Antonio Banderas is lovely in the summer but in January rain not on anyone's bucket list I guess. I didn't stick around Malaga long and got the train back.
Weather forecast is better for tomorrow....fingers crossed.

Weather today looked quite cold for us it would have been a movie day, or a short walk to the Potter I see new Covid cases are falling, both here and in Spain, hoping the downward trend continues, think i read Spain are due to review restrictions again end of January, maybe the outcome will allow families to travel over in Feb half term, with LFT tests for children only having had 1 jab The Paseo Maritime Antonio Banderas is a lovely part of the paseo Chawky to take a stroll, and we rarely see LLM down there, but on Benal/Torre paseo they take up 50% of the space... really annoys me especially when folks are trying to keep 1.5mt apart! Chawky hope you got a bike ride in, and had a brandy and coffee later It appears for now the building near CB's is on hold due to a planning query, long may the query continue x

Yes cold today, so Paddington for quiz this afternoon and Panda for tea. So not been far today and no bike ride. Hope it warms up a bit I fancy a visit to Fountain Sq. I think I've been quite lucky with the weather so far - may dig out my bus ticket and do some wandering if weather doesn't pick up again.

Still coldish today but slightly warmer than yesterday. Had a walk around Arroyo this morning, fairly busy as it was market day.
I didn't go to El Rincon de Mary but it was open with customers.
In the afternoon went down to the front and walked along the paseo to La Carihuela. The paseo was very quiet. I think most do a morning walk. The sea was quite choppy and there were about 20 hardy souls surfing in front of the Triton.

Chawky i saw the high waves this morning and guessed the surfers would be out Pleased customers have returned to El Rincon, hope the owner keeps things much the same as Maria did however today if there i would have been under the awning, i hate the wind We love a stroll around Arroyo, and a visit to the market only ever buy flowers & fruit.. Checked our flight again today and 31 seats booked now, which is good news.. Just been reading some new law in Spain due to come into force next month re vaccines, you are only allowed in, if its not been more than 270 days since your booster jab?? doubt anyone had boosters until Sept, don't know were Spain are going with this ruling??? This is part of the very long ruling :- Vaccination certificates issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin from 14 days after the date of administration of the last dose of the complete vaccination regimen (primary vaccination) shall be accepted as valid, provided that no more than 270 days have elapsed since the date of administration of the last dose of that regimen. Thereafter, the vaccination certificate issued by the competent authority of the country of origin shall reflect the administration of a booster dose. Complete vaccination guidelines (primary vaccination) are those established in the COVID-19 Vaccination Strategy in Spain. The vaccination certificate shall include at least the following information: 1. Name and surname of the holder. 2. Date of vaccination, indicating the date of the last dose administered. 3. Type or types of vaccine administered. 4. Number of doses administered/complete schedule. 5. Issuing country. 6. Identification of the body issuing the vaccination certificate. Am i reading the facts correctly, what happens when it reaches 270 days since your last vaccine will we not be allowed in??? Chawky hope sunshine is back tomorrow so you can enjoy a bike ride.. xx

Hi Rosebush - I read it differently - I think it means no problem to enter Spain if you have had the booster. But if you haven't had your booster your 2nd dose of the vaccine shouldn't be over 270 days prior.
Weather calmer as no wind today but generally overcast.
Saturday has been a watching footy day so whilst my team had a good win I hope to do something more interesting tomorrow!

Well that makes more sense Chawky, feel the booster is what's being pushed along now, personally i cannot understand folks who have taken 2 doses, and will not take the booster I see its sunny in Benal today, with a breeze so hope the air is warm, can see folks sunbathing so looks good Sounds like the day 2 test to return to UK, is being dropped from Jan 26th, so maybe more folks will travel, its a shame for families with children over 12 who have only had 1 jab, and cannot fly until 2nd jab is administered, the guy who owns the apt we rent has had to cancel their half term break, has his Son cannot get 2nd jab until March, but best we stick to the rules.. Hope you enjoy your day Chawky whatever you have planned..x

A glorious Sunday. Blue sky, warm with very little breeze.I was going to do a bus trip but the weather was so nice I didn't want to spend time on the bus. Went out about 11am to Paloma Park with my book, got my favourite bench overlooking the lake. When I was ready for lunch I was in two minds; walk up to Arroyo or down to the paseo. I chose the latter. Had lunch at Southbeach a forum favourite. The paseo was busy Palm 5, Wigan Bar, Sunshine bar all had plenty of customers. The Drunken Sailor was also open and looked busy. Southbeach not full but plenty in.
Even saw some people in the sea and quite a few on the beach. Stayed on the paseo eventually getting back to the apartment about 5pm.
Evening spent have drinks in Mallones and Ibensa Sq.
All in all a very pleasant Sunday.

Hi Chawky! Now you are making me feel even more "homesick" for Benal!! South Beach is one of our favourites, alongside Mare Nostrum and Saint Tropez! Good to see that the Drunken sailor is busy. Nice people who have worked hard to get it established again. So pleased you are enjoying your holiday and look forward to your posts! Fond regards, BT.

Monday was a quiet day just a walk to Arroyo to the bank and dropping off books at Cudeca. A video call early evening with my granddaughter being the highlight!
Today I went Fuengirola. The bus was full as it was market day. It's a nice flat place to walk around. The weather was mainly sunny. Even a couple of the sunbed concessions were open - they must get better weather down there!
It is such a big place so plenty of walking. I had pig cheeks for lunch. I've never worked in a restaurant so I don't know how they manage to serve it in 10 minutes. I used to do them myself and the recipe I'd been given is for nearly 4 hours in the oven. The meal was lovely but much pricier than Benalmadena.
Early evening I went to the Orange shop in Arroyo. They want to offer me fibre optic internet (same price as I'm paying now to upgrade) but I needed more documentation - come back tomorrow they said.

B.T i thought of you soon as Chawky mentioned South Beach Hope you are back there soon, but understand not possible for you at the moment.. Chawky it looked warm out there yesterday, saw pic's on F.B of folks eating outside in the sun wearing tee shirts & shorts, some mentioned pleasant temps, but would be very warm without the damn winds! i always felt the wind cut right through you We do pop down to Fuengirola, normally get off in Los Boliches, then walk into the town, then on to Miramar via the bridge, have stops for coffee tapas, and shopping, being flat helps my poor old joints get going always glad to get back to Benal though.. How old is your Grand-daughter now, its the only thing i love about technology you can see and speak to family when away from home I'm not sure i have eaten pigs cheek, unless they were in a tapas and i didn't know hope you enjoyed them... On Fuengirola cams the sun's shining i cannot see the flags flying so no wind yet, have a great day..x

My granddaughter will be 3 in April...she's catching me up!
The weather has been great this week. Sun out most of the day with very little wind. Really warm in the sun in the afternoons.
I've had nice walks and a ride to Los Alamos. In between Orange have installed my fibre optic (pretty quick service) and I've done the quiz at the Paddy.
I'm off to watch Malaga tomorrow and my flight back is on Monday.

I can see today weather is dull & windy, but hope you find something to do out & about, great to here you are happy with Fibre Optic and speed is good, not sure what's happening at our rental apt, the owner had Internet prob's a few weeks ago, but had to travel home before it was sorted, the cleaner was there to allow visits from Wi-fi company, and hopefully its been sorted still not sure yet about our visit, waiting for next BOE maybe some restrictions will be eased So nice you can see and chat to your Grand daughter via internet, at 3 she may not understand why you are on the Tv bet you get lots of hugs tomorrow, safe journey home, and many thanks for your logs, its nice to keep 'in touch' with Benal.
