Hi,
I've noticed that the Cercanias train has another line that goes from Malaga to Alora. Has anyone ever been to Alora and is it worth visiting for an afternoon ?
Thanks

We’ve been on the train to Alora a few times but we’ve only been to the town itself once. The town is a VERY long uphill climb from the station but a small public bus meets (I think it’s evey other) train right outside the station entrance. You have to hurry up as the bus driver doesn’t wait long.
As you will note from my opening sentence we don’t visit the town anymore as we don’t think it’s worth the hassle with the buses to and from town. The train journey is enjoyable as it passes through a lovely valley en route from Malaga and there is a station bar at Alora which we’ve called in several times.
If you want more details of the train/bus times, etc, I will happily post them on here.

Not sure if the train service has resumed yet, a lot of the track was damaged in last years flooding..There is a bus/coach service available, though not sure were it drops you off but if it was in the town, then would go for that x

Thanks folks, might not bother if the trains aren't running. I'll check that all out before we venture up there. Thanks again

Rose, I thought it was the track after Alora (en route to Ronda) that was damaged. As far as I’m aware, as the C2 terminates at Alora, it wasn’t affected by the flooding.
