That's a shame. I suppose it's to maximise income for the bars etc; I have left my leprechaun's hat in Spain for celebrations on the 17th, the day of arrival! No doubt there will still be plenty of celebrations on the day. Kind regards to all, BT.

The St Patrick's Day events in both Benalmadena and Torremolinos have been cancelled due to the Corona Virus. This decision was taken by the Irish Association of Spain.

Can understand why they have taken this action, they have to think of all the people that are involved behind the scene in making the event happen, as a spectator we have a choice of staying in or going out to celebrate the day..
At the moment its business as usual everywhere, so hopefully the bars restaurants will still do well, just hoping everyone is taking any precautions they can, have to admit lots of toilets do not have soap in there dispensers!!! so keep a sanitiser with you..xx

I understand too Rosebush. I'll be wearing my leprechaun hat however!
Some bars and restaurants don't even have loo roll, let alone soap!!!! We always take loo roll and a sanitiser when we go out! Talking of loo roll................we went shopping on Monday and we were the only customers with no loo roll in the trolley..............mass hysteria in Essex!😷😷😷😷
Contacting our travel insurers later today to check if we are covered in the event of Corona virus related illness or event. I will post their advice on the Forum. Keep well folks! Kind regards, BT.

No sanitiser in any of the 7 Benal pharmacies we tried today, but one did advise we use Alcohol Etilico Cinfa 96% and purchase a spray bottle so did that, like you B.T I always carry a beach bag full of stuff such as loo roll, wet wipes and sprays etc plus I did get large packs of loo rolls on 3 consecutive days. I have always checked out loo's before we sit in any bar, as they are used also by the staff, so if no soap in there, then staff will not have clean hands!!! although it's still a chance you take that they do wash their hands Many folks here quite angry at the St Pats parade being cancelled but the organisers are responsible for their staff, so had to make the choice.... Red hot here today, but due to cool off by Monday and rain forecast with high winds for 5days, but still around 17-18c so much better than UK xx
