Some beaches are now being closed once they start to fill up to a capacity deemed dangerous, so at least beach goers know the council intend to keep beaches safe and the system is working, think so far its just the weekends which have been very busy last 2 weeks, the beach closed yesterday 12.30-16.30, was at Torremulle, there are taped off entries but someone just took tape off xxx
Reading today up to 55 beaches closed yesterday in Spain, stating the red taped had been removed so over crowding was occurring!! sun seems to go to peoples heads x

I'm presuming at the moment it's mainly Spanish on the beach as holidaymakers are only just starting to trickle in? I wonder what will happen in a couple of weeks when flights get busier. I think there may be a lot of disappointed holidaymakers. If the hotel pools will only allow a limited number in, and the beaches are full, where will people go? ........ or am I being a bit cynical about it?

Agree with Alison! I don't think you are being cynical Alison! There are loads of flights from the UK to Malaga this week! May have to queue from 6am for a bed on the beach!!! Our apartment complex doesn't have much shade and only a small pool and I think therefore there will be lots of books read on the terrace. Thank you for all the info Rosebush. You've been a star.💖💖💖 Kind regards to all, BT. X

I can't believe that people are still asking on social media if there is another pool they can use as their pool is closed.

Seems Mon-Fri not to bad, but weekends if you want a set place you will need to get there before 8am, next month will be worse as Spain shuts down for August, its still 60% capacity, but being monitored like this, means everyone stays safe, plus security each day up & down beach..
Pools open to non residents... so far I have only heard about day passes being sold at Holiday World and Hotel Doramar used to let folks use pool if they purchased drinks & snacks, its very quiet there, so if they follow safety measure I'm sure folks will still be allowed in, not what should happen, but wouldn't surprise me..
Hotel Arenas & Balmoral getting ready to open also heard the Riviera as well, lots more flights heading into Malaga this week and presume with quarantine ended in UK on Saturday more tourists will book flights, so Benal will feel like its really open again...
Safe flights to all coming over, we at last have our boarding cards with Jet2 for 15th, and we are happy to be going home, don't usually feel like that, but July heat to too much for us and we have been here nearly 5months...
Stay Safe..xx

Thanks Rosebush. You have kept me sane this spring and summer with your news from Benal. My friend in Torremolinos sends me snippets but he is not as informative as you! Glad you have a flight at last but sorry you leave before we arrive. I so wanted to buy you a Cava!! Have a good journey home and I am not surprised you are happy to be going home. I feel homesick for Essex after 3 weeks, despite the fact that it's currently raining,a bit chilly and VERY grey!! A final question!! Do the beach beds open early?? Normally our guy at Playa Paco opens at 10. And can you book beds in advance as we usually do? So many unknowns!! What an adventure awaits us all!! Fond regards to you and your husband. Kind regards to all Benalites on this Forum.😎😎😎😎😎 BT. X

B.T had early morning stroll down paseo 8.20am, folks had chairs & sun brollies up near to water, but only a few from Windmills to marina, some sunbeds out near marina end but couldn't see the attendant, I would expect by 9am lots more will be put out as the attendants need the trade, feel for next 2 weeks getting on the beach will not be too bad but come August with pool restrictions, you will need to be down there before 8am..
More flights coming in nearly everyday, but must be staying further down the hill or on main road, as Bali & San Fermin only have a few guests, the carpark of Siroco had lots of spaces taken yesterday so guests must be driving down from inland and maybe here for week, others just for weekends but great to get money flowing again around the resort
Meeting being held in Spain (Andalucia) Tuesday by Health Ministers re masks, looks like they are to worn 'at all times' when out, and not just under distance measures, I normally drop mine if I'm in a quiet street or where folks are not near me, info read, if caught without a mask on its 100 fine so pleased we are going home on Wednesday, as in the heat when safe to do so, just dropping the mask for 1minute lets you breathe fresh air, also folks will need to carry at least 2 spare masks as they should not be worn continually for more than 2 hours...will follow news from the meeting..
Masks in pharmacies are only 96c, in Mas 6 for €5, so cheap if the law does change..
Looks like Summer has arrived in some parts of UK, so get the sun beds out...hope its sunny in NI as well Robert.
Take care stay safe..xx
