Nicke its causing great confusion here, everyone waiting for the Official document to be released, if you are swimming in pool or sea, taking off and putting on your masks seems more harmful, and how do you sunbathe in a mask think if there are no exclusions for these two area's it will put folks off coming over..
Also not mentioned were 'medical' conditions against wearing the mask? x

yeah, sometimes it's the not knowing the full story that's annoying. We've made the call anyway, after sleeping on things, that we're not going to come out now in a couple of weeks. We've changed all our dates to next year so will get there again. Channel our energy into making sure we do all we can to get rid of this blooming virus!
Have a safe trip back to the UK Rosebush! Thanks for your insights and help.

Nicke, I don't blame you for changing your plans! If we didn't own property in Benal I doubt if we would go. Our place has been abandoned since 3rd March so there will be plenty to do! We arrive on Friday evening and I'm already really nervous and have moments which border on panic!! Rosebush, you have been amazing! Thank you so much for all the info and updates throughout your extended holiday and I wish you and your husband a comfortable journey home. Keep in touch....I'll miss you!!! Kind regards to all. BT X

I agree with Bt. Thank you for all the updates Rosebush and safe trip home tomorrow.
Our place has also been empty since the beginning of March so probably lots of dust and weeds living there now.
Sorry to hear that you postponed your trip Nicke but if you feel that's right for you then who's to argue. If we didn't have a property we possibly wouldn't be comtenplating going either.
We have already lost a trip in April and pushed our July trip back a month to mid August in the hope that things will have improved both in Spain and at home. I had an email to say our flight has been brought forward by three hrs so it looks promising.
We have also had the two week quarantine on return, lifted so that helps a bit as well.
Rosebush we've had reasonable weather over here this last week but it is raining today 😭

Morning Folks,
Arrived home safely 3.30pm yesterday, lovely flight with Jet2, only 32 on board, we had a full row to ourselves and lot of space around, aircon on full so although I found the mask uncomfortable, I did cope and felt relaxed, even had a coffee, however I was really anxious walking down the airbridge onto the plane my knee's felt like jelly...so a full flight, sitting close to someone I didn't know my nerves would have been through the roof, but I wanted to get home, so took a chance.....
For anyone travelling now its a risk factor, but if you feel its what you have/need/want to do, then go for it, the air crew like us now have to wear masks, you board in rows, so no crowding on plane, you are asked not to queue for loo's, all airports are masks on, sanitizers around, reminders everywhere, distance measures in place, plus you take care of your own personal safety, wash hands, spray them, mask up...so nothing else we can do..
Our next trip is in 7mths when pray to god, we know more about this virus and it's contained more, R rate down to almost zero, both here & Spain, then we will go back, not booking anything until end of year...
Nicke sorry your trips off until next year, but by then with more facts known about the situation you will feel safer about going to Benal, so will enjoy your holiday more..x
B.T safe trip on Friday, and Robert for you in August, now with everyone having to wear masks when on the move, that's another step forward, but you can still sunbathe around the pool, on the beach, all distance measure will be in place, choose your favourite bars/restaurants, enjoy eating on your balconies, just stay safe..

Glad you got home safe Roshbush.
Safe flight Bt. We received an email yesterday from our Administration company stating that as our complex was privately owned it was NOT compulsory to wear masks although they did advise wearing them. More confusion.
Also avoid using the lifts and if you do then use gel on your hands.

Here at long last! Friday was a strange day. Masks in the airport and on the flight and of course at Malaga airport. The health scanning was very efficient and I do recommend that anyone coming out completes their Spanish health form in advance. Very weird indeed was the fact that our flight was the only arrival and Malaga airport was like a ghost town. Face masks everywhere except on the beach and around the pool and the majority of people are wearing them. Annoyingly the LLM wear theirs like a chin strap and I have started to challenge them, much to my husband's dismay!! Most of the LLM just laugh when I tell them to cover their face. If everyone else can do it then they blooming well can. I will carry on policing the LLM!! There were dozens along the Paseo last night.....grrrrrr! Plenty of restaurants and bars are open. Lunch at South Beach was great as was dinner at La Perla on the Paseo. Plenty of cleaning and sanitising everywhere, and staff all wear masks. If we are all sensible we should be safe. Fond regards to all, BT. X

Hi BT pleased you arrived safely and have made visits to your favourite places to eat & drink, bet its hot!
We didn't go down to the paseo much during our last 2 weeks due to the heat, but when we did and saw how many LLM were down there just could not believe it, just from Bil Bil to Marina must have been well over 60, their masks were a joke so dirty and under their chin, even Hubby told them 'mask up' a few did others just made out they didn't understand him, also heard the bar owners along their don't say anything to them at all for fear of reprisals I really hope tourist bear in mind Covid is still out there, and do not buy from them, they have no way of washing their hands at all after using bushes as a toilet!
Hope you get all your jobs done, then relax and enjoy your holiday, we did check fights into Malaga yesterday.. lots of them, but not sure how many on board, was your flight full? Benal needs the tourists, so many bars owners echoed this to us many times
Have fun and keep safe..xx

Hi all! Rosebush, yes our flight was full but apart from one covidiot who decided not to follow crew instructions, all went well. A positive experience with disembarkation row by row instead of the usual mass exit on arrival. Wish they could stick to that! Went to Bonanza Bar last night to see Revival. A couple of British women nearly closed the place as they refused to get off the dance floor and thought they could do whatever they wanted. Owner was brilliant, ordered them out and they left swearing and threatening bad reviews on social media. The owner got a round of applause from the rest of us!! Sorry but it is sadly tourists who are breaking the rules and putting the rest of us at risk. Lots of bars and restaurants struggling....it's odd to see places like Mare Nostrum half empty when on a normal Sunday in July there is a queue for a table. Keep those masks on folks!! Fond regards to all, BT.

Hi B.T hope you are enjoying the sunshine, and coping with the masks..
I did read about the incident in Bonanza Bar, seems like the ladies were British Ex Pats, don't know why folks drink more than they can handle, these ladies spoilt their night and could have ruined everyone else's, very selfish!!
Have been reading its still very quiet out there, but hope all bar's can keep ticking over, some are happy to make enough to pay bills and live, and stay open, so good luck to them all, hope folks are tipping well..
Have you seen or heard of any fines being issued for not wearing masks, know its hard in the heat, and this stopped us walking a lot like we love too, but we did get from A to B okay with mask on, so hope tourists take heed of regulations!
Stay safe, enjoy yourselves..xx

Coping well with the masks although we are not going far! They are very hot to wear for long! No news of anyone being fined for not wearing them. Favourite places to eat so far are Mare Nostrum, St Tropez and a new restaurant called Lanavine along from South Beach. Also been to Meson la Cordobesa at Naciones. Hotel La Roca is closed as is Mullarkeys. A number of bars and shops remain closed. Sky Bar at Las Arenas is open.....oh joy! And yes! we are tipping big Rosebush! Keep those masks on folks!! Kind regards from sunny (hot) Benalmadena! BT.
