Only the turkey curry to make now! We had a super Christmas Day and Boxing Day but felt for those many people who were affected by appalling weather and floods.
Our Christmas had a bit of a Spanish theme which I will attempt to explain!
Christmas eve saw a bottle of Spanish Cava demolished in no time! This was accompanied by Spanish Flamenco guitar music, courtesy of Alexa.
Out came the tacky Christmas trees which light up, purchased from Raj along the front! My daughter had a photo put onto canvas for me. It is a picture of an elderly man in a brown hat sitting at a bar with a pint and it hangs in Mullarkeys bar near the stage. I have loved it for years and now....if I can't go to Mullarkeys, a little bit can come to me! She also bought us a cool bag on wheels to take to the beach after another daughter managed to wreck ours last year! Dinner was in our conservatory which I call my Spanish room as it has some ceramics from Arroyo market, prints of the Paseo and Malaga flower market and the odd gecko ornament on the walls.
After dinner....Pacharan, our favourite Spanish liqueur!
Fond regards to all. Wishing you a peaceful New Year and let's hope this vaccine can be rolled out quickly. Stay safe. BT. X

Hi B.T love the sound of your Spanish Christmas and you had a bit of Mullarky's with you.. Have you eaten at OK Restaurant if so did you try their Pacharan, its home made and so nice, and its given in Spanish measures . We are awaiting news of the Oxford vaccine, lots of press coverage saying it will be ready to roll on Monday?? its much needed now, cannot believe cases are higher than in April, however we are entering 2021 with positive thoughts that all will be well in a few months, and we can get back to Benal for late Spring.. Happy New Year to everyone..Stay safe. xx

Ah, Pacharan! Another story from Benal! About ten years ago we were with friends in Rodeo Steak House when an almighty storm broke. Cars and wheelie bins were soon floating down the road and Avenida de la Roca (our road) was closed by the Police. We asked our lovely waitress Claudia if we could stay until it was safer to climb the hill. "Of course!" she said and presented us with a full bottle of Pacharan to help us while away the time! Hooked!! We also get it "on the house" in La Perla along the Paseo. Fond regards to all, with every good wish for 2021. BT. Great news about the Oxford vaccine.............
