Like Bt we arrived on Thursday evening around 7pm. No problems at the airport at either side. It was obviously a lot quieter than normal. Taxi to our apartment and then I did a quick shop for essentials ( beer and pizza) while the others settled in . We stayed in and you already know what dinner was. 🤣🤣 Friday morning I dropped my wife to the train station as she was off to the dentist in Malaga whilst I fought my way through Lidls doing a big shop. Picked my good lady up again after lunch back for a bite to eat then pool time. Arroyo that evening and Oliver's new place in Mezquita Square for dinner with some friends.
We have two of our daughters and our grandson with us so this was to be a lazy trip because I've been working flat out for this last year. Saturday was indeed a chilled day involving a visit to our park, ice cream , pool time then later dinner in Ocampos in Arroyo. It was our Ruby anniversary so we were joined by a few friends and a good night was had by all.
Sunday we didn't go far, pool, BBQ then a walk and a drink in the clubhouse.
Today was a visit to the park ( a long visit) followed by lunch in WeatherSpain's .Back for a swim then a BBQ ( leftovers 🤣). No plans for tomorrow at the minute.
Hope you're enjoying your trip Bt and that you hear good news from your Aunt soon.

Tueday was another pool Day followed by drinks in Let it Beer in plaza Pueblosol. A very nice lady but ever so slow at serving. We choose there because there is a children's park opposite it and there was also a concert on at 10pm as part of the Cultura en la Calles programme. After some food we moved down the square to a newish bar called ARO Lounge where we finished the night with a few gins. The next day was repeat followed by drinks and dinner in Cafe bar Plaza Espana. This trip was to be a relaxing break thus the pool days. Thursday was a train ride to Malaga. My wife went off to visit her dentist and I had to go to our bank to get new bank cards, which had been posted out but hadn't arrived. New cards had to be ordered and will be ready for collection in October. Why are simple things so awkward in Spain 🤣.A visit to the Larios Centre was followed by a visit to the indoor market were we were met by Mrs L and a feast of fish tapas and cervesa was enjoyed by all. Then a walk along C Larios for drinks in El Pimpi followed by a pitstop in the Sherry bar on the way back to the train station. It's very difficult to walk past it and not go in 😭. Back to Arroyo and into 100 Montiditios for more drinks and food before getting the last bus home. The day was ended with a nice cup of coffee on the terrace. Today was yet another pool Day and Jacob gained the confidence to swim on his own (using armbands) and once he realised he wouldn't actually sink he managed to also gain the confidence to launch himself into the pool from the edge. The rest of the afternoon was spent continually fishing him out of the deep end.😭, Getting ready to go out to the Pueblo this evening. The plan is to have drinks in the Bull Bar then dinner in Sopranos. More later.

Bull bar was closed or at least it wasn't open when we were there so we had a drink in Chorrillos and a walk through the small park opposite. Dinner in Sopranos with friends followed by drinks in Coral. Sat was a beach day and the place was packed. Ended up at Yucas due to there being no parking spaces any closer. Its a small hidden beach, not much sand but plenty of stones 🤣. Sunbed and Padel board hire and available. Spent the afternoon there. Mrs L got stung by a jelly fish but the fish is OK. Sat night was a visit to Il Boccaccio for dinner. Seems to be a lack of taxis around as several times we've had to wait quite a while to get back home. Yesterday was a pool Day, BBQ and drinks on the terrace.

Robert its lovely to read about all you are doing on holiday and all the bar/restaurants you are calling in, hope they all survive, i can see on weather cams more folks on the beach, but still nowhere near as usual, seems like lots of Brits staying at home, maybe in August there will be a last minute dash.. So pleased Jacob enjoys the water and is happy with his arm bands...you will need eyes in the back of your head now Hope all your jobs are done now as with the heat many pool days must be needed.. Look forward to your next post

Loved reading your posts Robert and hope that your wife has recovered from the jellyfish sting.......it is so painful and the jellyfish are the reason we don't go into the sea in July and August! Sounds as though you had a good day in Malaga. We loved El Pimpi and popping into a Bodega for prawns and sherry before we got the bus back to Malaga. Jacob seems to be finding his flippers! Never too young. Re taxis. Have you asked taxi drivers for a card? We use a local number and they have always sent a taxi within minutes. I've probably put a curse on that now! Continue to enjoy your holiday. Fond regards, BT.

Monday was another lazy day pool, park and pub in the shape of our clubhouse for a few beers and tapas. Tuesday we drove to Malaga and parked at Muelle Uno. Wife went to dentist AGAIN and we had a walk to look at the cruise ship then a few hours on the beach and a beer stop before heading back to Benalmádena for dinner at LuLus in Arroyo with friends. Wednesday is the day before we come home and is always the day I wish we were in a hotel. CLEANING DAY. 😭😭😭😭😭. Final dinner in the Fountain Bistro that evening. Taxi at 08.20am Thursday for a 10.50 flight. Took 30 mins at bag drop where all paperwork was checked and we were given a slip of paper to say everything was in order. 30mins at security then customs and a 5 min wait before boarding do tight enough with luggage. Home to rain and work and looking forward to next trip. Customs only asked for passports in Belfast. Didn't even mention locator forms.😡

Gosh! Your holiday seems to have flown by Robert! You have done so much I feel exhausted just reading your posts! Thank you for posting. Good to hear that check-in and security were straightforward. Gatwick 10 days ago were checking all locator forms.
We are due to fly out tomorrow for two weeks. I've been reading all the speculation about Spain, along with France and Italy, being put on the red list and that has set the butterflies fluttering in my tum! We are still going!! If we have to stay on I can think of worse places (such as a hotel at Gatwick Airport!!) to be.
Keep safe Robert, and dry! Fond regards, BT.

Hope you are feeling refreshed after your break Robert, not nice to come home to rain though, wish UK summer meant 3mths of sunshine hope your dear lady is well after her dental treatment, and Jacob continues his swimming lessons x B.T hope you have a safe flight and all goes well with the mountain of paper needed to get to Spain, but it will be worth it, and if Spain goes to red, you have the beach and the sunshine for a while longer than planned, but Spain are doing great with their vaccines, so hopefully there will be no changes...look forward to your posts..xx
