I am very impressed with HM Passport Office! My husband received his new passport within days of application and my new one arrived today, Friday 22nd October. I had been told that mine would take up to ten weeks as my original was lost in Malaga but it took only 4 weeks. I am aware that some folk are confused about expiry dates on current passports and would urge them to renew long before the expiry date shown. My only regret is that we postponed our early November trip after being told at the British Consulate in Malaga that mine would take "at least" ten weeks to process. Kind regards to all! BT.

So pleased you have your passport B.T and it arrived in much less time that predicted I am feeling a little better today so we are planning to try and find photo booth next week, hubby looked at one this morning but code numbers needed for passports not done at this booth, so will try Boots, if not, we have been told there in one in our city Bus Station.. Are you going to try and re book your November flights now, or wait until Dec? xx

B.T hope you make your planned Nov trip we are trying Boots first for photo's, if no luck there, will try our main bus station, have read if we use a photo booth that has a 'code for passports' when filling in online request forms, we enter the code and the pic auto submits ? hope so as not very tech minded .x

Rosebush.....you are right about the code. Enter the code and your beautiful photo automatically submits. However you must do it within 4 weeks of having the photo taken! I was lucky in Spain as I had taken my photo and code with me otherwise it would have added to the expense of what was NOT a cheap holiday! Fond regards, BT.

I used Boots for passport pic's, was so easy to order on line and got my new one with 4 working days, also received 3 emails from then to let me know its progress, not received my old one back yet though , Hubby has not received any emails yet from PPO in over a week, his online form requested he use a P.O Box, he has only received the tracking number from TNT to say it was signed at that location over a week ago, so if no email tomorrow going to find telephone number of were to ring them.. Things looking bit bleak at the moment for travellers, with LFT/PCR needed again, if using airports for testing, you will get a test as you board, and a test as you land, to avoid quarantine.. xx

I have just renewed my passport but did it all on line, taking my own photo (or rather my daughter took it). The hardest part were the arguments we had when I kept asking her to take from a different angle to get rid of my saggy neck LOL!! It was very easy to do as when the pic is uploaded they let you know if it isn't quite right and and you can correct it as many times as you like until you are happy with the result. Once uploaded, it only took a few days for my passport to be sent to me.

Well done Alison on sorting your own pic so pleased you have your passport now, still no emails to hubby about his, when ordering he was asked to send it to a P.O box, so guessed it would take longer.. Just hoping we can get back to Spain in Spring for our long stay.. x

In response to Rosebush's question about return of passports...............My husband received his within a couple of weeks. Mine of course was lost at Malaga airport and it's probably in a land-fill site somewhere! Pleased your husband's passport arrived Rosebush and hope too that you get to Benal in 2022. Agree with Alison's remarks about the reminder of how we age over ten years! Mind you, in my last passport I looked like a Russian shot-putter (male or female!!) and my new one is a little kinder! My husband still looks like a hardened criminal on his! Fond regards to all, BT.
