Well we are optimistic again about getting out to Benalmadena on Thursday! We are staying at a motel at Gatwick Airport the night before and have booked a table in a restaurant to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary................how romantic I hear you whisper!! I've seen some worrying videos of very busy bars and a pub crawl (eeeeek!) which scared me but at least I know which places not to go to! A walk in Paloma Park and along the Paseo are all I need currently! Hope to put more on here on here once we get there. Take care and keep safe all, Fond regards, BT.

Happy Anniversary and happy holidays. Hope all goes well on Thursday.
Our youngest daughter and her boyfriend have been in Benalmádena a week and they are loving it.
We were originally supposed to fly out to join them today but business is improving and we can't afford to take any more time off work for isolation purposes. We changed the flights to the end of January so something to look forward to.

B.T hope you and hubby enjoyed your Anniversary champagne dinner and your flight was all okay yesterday...plus waking up to the Benal sunshine this morning how lucky are you.. Robert shame you have had to move your trip to January, but 14 days quarantine really hits workers but so nice to read your daughter and her boyfriend are loving their time in Benal, still well over 4 mths before we are out there, but will enjoy all your blogs... x

Thank you Robert and Rosebush for your Anniversary wishes! Actually we had a lovely evening and it was great not to have to get up early and tackle the road to hell (M25)! Sorry you can't get here Robert. I think the only advantage of advancing years is that we don't have to worry about quarantine when we return to the UK.Pleased your daughter and her boyfriend are enjoying their holiday. Our flight was on time with 71 passengers. Nearly didn't take off due to irresponsible behaviour by a few folk at the back of the aircraft, drinking their duty free and not wearing masks. One woman complained (quite rightly) and she became the villain of the piece, with the idiots shouting at her to get off...............I felt so sorry for her but the crew were good and moved her to the front of the plane. All sorted with plenty of words of advice from the crew! When we arrived home it was a speedy unpack and off for a walk along the Paseo to Ole Square to check out which eateries were open.........not many and one of our favourites, Lucena, is closed. A snack in Weatherspains before heading home to listen to some of our old favourites (Status Quo mainly!) with a glass of vino! Yesterday, Friday, was warm with some light cloud which suited our pale bodies! Supersol shop done, thank goodness. I hate shopping! Pleased to see that our little local supermarket is still open. Then it was beach for the rest of the day, fabulous. Sad to report only a few people on the beds but we'll keep going as long as the sun's out and the beds are there. We had a great lunch in South Beach and met some very nice people. Only nice people go to Benalmadena! We intended to have our evening meal in Meson la Codobesa (at the Naciones blocks) but it was closed 😖so we went to Potters Lodge for a rather nice Chilli con Carne! Ventured up to Bonanza Square which seemed pretty busy and then down the hill to home! Played Mott the Hoople this time...............I'd forgotten all about them!! Showing my age now folks! Time to load up the beach bag😎😎🏖🏖 Take care everyone, BT. X

Sounds like you have settled back into Benal life very quickly doesn't take us long either, within an hour we are out having tapas & vino B.T which Super sol do you use, we go up to Arroyo by the roundabout, but did hear they have sold out to Carrefore, so will miss the store if its gone by next Spring Didn't realise Cordobesa closed on Fridays? but pleased Potters did their usual, and served up some nice food, Dave & Karen are both very good cooks and its nice to have home made food.. Have you tried El Rincon de Mary tapas bar in the Gamonal, the owner Maria serves some nice tapas, either made by herself or her Sister Danielle, the red wine is good in there too Enjoy the rest of your evening and relax with your music.. Stay Safe xx

First, answers to Rosebush! We use Super Sol along the main road and I too heard they have sold out to Carrefour. Haven't been to El Rincon de Mary tapas bar....yet! Rosebush, your friend Val continues to a have a great holiday! Second, our activities! Not a lot as the weather has been good and the beach beckons on a daily basis. Mind you, we were the only two on the beds at Playa Paco yesterday so I don't know how long they will all stay open. Nice lunches at Mare Nostrum and Lanavine and evening meals at Boo'z Bar and La Perla. I really should tell my readers to refer to our September trip as we go to the same places every trip!
Husband had a workout on his exercise bike as we are being lazy and he's anxious not to put on pounds whilst we're here.
Friends are flying out on Tuesday and I guess the laid back attitude we have adopted will continue. (Hopefully!)
Everywhere is painfully quiet. I thought it may be busier this weekend as today, Monday, is a bank holiday but local folk either don't have the money or they are being Covid cautious. A friend in Torremolinos said the streets there are deserted by 9pm.
Been listening to 10CC!Used to see them live twice a year before the pandemic.
Sun's out! Fond regards to all, BT.

Today will be day 7 on the beach! Our friends arrived safely and they too are enjoying the warmth and sunshine. Apart from a frustrating telephone conversation or two with our Fiscal representative all is well. Eateries have included Rodeo Steak House, St Tropez and the Mint Leaf Indian. The whole bank of restaurants along the main road near Mint Leaf are closed. Paella in Mare Nostrum today...............
Sorry to hear about the new restrictions which have been introduced in the UK. I guess we will be seeing more.
Men at Work on the CD player!
Fond regards to all, BT.

Glad to hear things are going well. Our daughter's flight home on Tuesday was cancelled so they had to reschedule for tonight. Luckily they didn't have to worry about accommodation.i told them they had an extra four days to clean so the place should be spotless 😂. At least the sun is out and I managed to get them a laptop so they could carry on with their Uni work so all is well. We have gone into a partial lockdown from 6pm last night. I had to cancel all next weeks work was was frustrating as the business was doing well. It's to last 4 weeks with the possibility of being extended. No close contact businesses are allowed to open and all bars and restaurants closed except for take away. Not good. Hope the sun keeps shinning for the rest of your trip.

Sun's still shining, very little breeze and cannot believe how quickly our October trip is going!
It doesn't feel at all autumnal as most of the trees are still green and the bougainvillea is still in flower. Lots of butterflies still about too!
Sadly every day feels quieter than the one before and every café/restaurant owner tells us how difficult it is to keep going. Had a couple of nice evenings in CB's.
Eventually got our Fiscal Representative to sort out Town Hall malarkey! Only took him 10 weeks!! Time for us to complete our health forms for return to the UK.😓😓😓
Oasis being played on the CD player!
Take care please my Forum friends. Kind regards, BT.

Good to hear that you are enjoying your stay, BT. This time last year we arrived at the Las Arenas and the weather was brilliant then too.
We are just about to move to tier 3 which means our third uk holiday of the year is about to be cancelled. The sights and sounds of Benal feel a very long way away.

Ten days on the beach! Had great meals out (including the Water Margin near Ole Square) and met some lovely people, as always. Arrived home last night after a quick flight from Malaga, and reflected on what a fabulous 10 days October trip we had. Missing our friends already! Sorry you are not able to go Neil and even sorrier about the move to tier 3. In Essex we are on tier 2 but there is plenty of speculation about moving up. Greetings from partially sunny Essex! Looking forward now to 2 weeks quarantine and hopefully a November trip in 4 weeks. (People on our flight who didn't complete the passenger locator forms on-line were not allowed into the UK until they had completed them by hand..........good news.) Take good care everyone and fond regards. BT.

Neil sad to hear you are having no luck with your holidays fingers crossed we all get our planned holidays next year your 10 days went quickly B.T but pleased you had good weather to spend time on the beach.. We were hoping to book flights with Jet2 on March 1st, but read on F.B they are not running until March 12th, so may take a look at flying out with Ryan air and back with Jet2, never mixed airlines before, but will see how things pan out, B.T are you using Easy jet for next Month? Robert hope your Daughter is safely back home now..x
