Well Benal saw the Spanish arrive Friday for a long weekend was lovely to see the buzz back here, it was the noise that hit us, lots of bar's restaurants were full, families strolling around we were only out until 10pm, but bet night life went on much later than that
Yesterday was quiet but more around than last week, and as from Monday 21st folks can move freely throughout Spain, so feel more will head to coast, and maybe stay longer, there are one or two municipalities who will still be in lockdown but only for 1 week..so with cautious movement and taking full account of safety measure think Spain will be open at the 'new normal'
The beach has lots of new safety measures even poles put in to keep the 2mt distance, beach guards, extra life guards, so all very safe down there for sunbathing and swimming
More bars open, and customers tipping more than usual, to ensure the continued running of them, we are using as many as we can to put euro's in tills, its hard but we are giving it our best shot..
B.T Rubens still closed but OSA by Dec's has been open most days..xx
Stay Safe..x

That’s encouraging news Robert I’m hoping that U.K. will lift 14 day isolation rule as soon as possible .

They said it's staying until the 29th June at the earliest then they'll decide if it's to remain in force.

Hope UK lift quarantine, and then folks can decide IF they want to fly or not, personally I am dreading our flight back next month the thought of being in a confined space with maybe over 150 people and wearing a mask for 3hours is making me wish I could swim home x
However for anyone coming over I'm sure Benal will welcome you with open arms, although all business's getting some trade, doubt they are making much profit, but you still get a warm welcome everywhere..

If you were in Essex at the moment you would be swimming Rosebush! Our garden, garage and conservatory flooded after torrential rain last night. Hopefully damage is not too bad but need everything to dry out before we know for sure!! Hope Forum Friends in the UK haven't been affected too badly by the storms last night. Rosebush, I agree with your comments about flying again. I too am dreading it. But if it means going home to Benal so be it............... Kind regards to all, take care, keep safe, BT.

Hi Folks from a still very hot Benal..free at last from state of emergency we had coffee brandy at noon to celebrate, and vino with early dinner
It's busy here at last, more on the beach, chringuito's doing really well, hotels listing opening dates, many more bar's open from tomorrow, and Ryanair landed at Malaga 13.05 from STN, also a flight due in from Glasgow this evening so all good news..
Distance measures now 1.5mt and 95% wearing masks, however in this heat its hard, we have been taking walks into back streets just to drop our masks and find shade, we even took bus to Torre yesterday, something we haven't done for a long time, always walk along the paseo, but just too hot..buses back to full use of seats now, but timetables still erratic no M120 from 4.15pm until 6.30pm from Fuengirola and M121 at times is only every hour...but that may change now in the new normal..
We are waiting for flight from Malaga with Jet2 they are due to start 3weeks on Wed, but hope with things picking up they might fly earlier, they do a lot of package deals so expect they need to know what UK is doing on quarantine measures, then need to time to arrange things with hotels etc, so could well be July 15th..but still hoping..
Our friends have Easy jet flights from Malaga for July 1st & July 5th, no cancellations yet, they like us are ready for home, we all love to take 6hr walks so doing 30mins is boring
Did hear about UK storms so B.T hope your garden is drying out now, also that you all have sunbeds ready for next week we are seeing UK forecasts of 28c , Robert hope NI is the same..
Robert on a work front if distance is lowered to 1mt can you resume work, wearing gloves mask etc, or is it still not possible?
Had to arrange a nurse home visit on Wednesday for my B12 jab as felt unwell using tablets, feeling great now, but poor hubby has to get dental appt tomorrow for what will be a tooth extraction, his tooth is loose and painful, have been told one in Ibenza Sq is good also one in Blas Infante, so which ever one can fit him quickly he will choose, as SOE is over now hope appts are available..
Enjoy the forth coming heat wave and take care..xx
