Good to hear you got home safely, and with not too much of a delay, monty1. I feel sorry for the people who are staying in accommodation with no cooking facilities. I wonder how they are managing to eat.

Takeaways can still open as can places that offer ‘home delivery’. Some bar/restaurants (Bar La Fiesta, for example) are delivering cooked food and drinks to apartments and hotels.

Things in Benal at the moment are very bleak, Mas & Merc had empty shelves this morning, we are told not to panic buy, but the supermarkets are still allowing folks to over fill trolleys to the brim!!
Also strict only one person to shop not couples!
Weather today sunny but cold wind, and next week is rain most days, so even the weather is on lock down :-))
I am listening to news at the moment and looks like UK going on a semi lock down as well :-(( take care xx

Sorry to hear about the supermarket shoppers. Daughter and I went out to 3 supermarkets (in Romford, Essex) yesterday and to small local shops. Even the butcher had run out of meat! Supermarket shelves and freezers empty. And I haven't spoken to one person who admits to panic buying! Rosebush and your other half....chin up, and in Benal it won't rain for ever. I do think about you every day and wonder how I would cope! Keep well. Kind regards, BT.

Just read that they expect to extend the lock down for another 15 days which would take us to around 12th April, Easter Sunday. This has not been confirmed yet but is expected to take place to curb the normally large amount of people movement at Semana, Santa.

So good to have a post from you Rosebush. I was getting anxious! Whilst we still can, we are going to the coast tomorrow with a flask of coffee and hopefully, fish and chips on the prom! I was looking at the webcams in Malaga today and as you said a few days ago, the weather has also gone into lock down. Stay cheerful! You do know I hope, that you can always communicate with us on the Forum....we are here for you and anyone else in Benal at this surreal time in our lives. Take care. Keep well. Fond regards, BT.

Hi B.T did you get to the coast if so, hope you enjoyed your fish & chips
No change here but at least its warm, so making the best of things, my exercise now is taking lift down to ground (4 floors) then walking back up the stairs! Also we have a huge sun terrace which is were we all dry our washing, but today I have walked around it a dozen times, just to keep my old bones moving and my arthritis pain at bay, were there's a will there's a way..
Just going to sit on my balcony now with scone and coffee, maybe with a small brandy..good antidote for killing the germs ..
Annie hope you are okay now you are back home..love to you both..
Stay safe..xx

It was so nice to see this on social media, quite a lot of thought put in to getting sequence correct.x
Everyone still out on balcony's at 8pm clapping as a thankyou to front line workers, we even have a lovely man on a top floor of Jupiter block sings to us after clapping ends, great tenor voice..
We have neighbours who were due to fly home to Liverpool airport on 19th March, flight was cancelled until 22nd, cancelled again until 26th, then finally hoping to go home on last flight out of Malaga on 29th, sadly this was cancelled too, all with Easyjet, feel sad for them as they so want to go home :-(( xx
We were also saddened to see a rise yesterday in new cases & deaths in Spain, after a fall on 3 consecutive days :-(( xx
Take care - stay safe..xx

Rumours are that the lock down is to be extended until 26th April. Not confirmed yet but expected. In the meantime if you want to be a volunteer and help others in this difficult times, send an email to voluntarioscovid19@benalmadena.es with your name, surname and phone number.

Good to hear from you Rosebush.Shame your neighbours couldn't get home. Can they get a repatriation flight through the British Embassy? There are a lot of Brits out there who can't get home. We know of a couple who drove home from Alicante through France. Their biggest problem was finding a loo....they didn't until they got to Calais................Journey took 3 days which wasn't bad under the circumstances. We in Blighty are applauding our many "heroes" at 8 pm every Thursday. It's very emotional and I confess to having a good weep when we are all outside waving to our neighbours. I can imagine how touching it must be doing it every evening, especially with the tenor! I wonder if it's the same guy who, in the summer, after a couple of glasses of wine on Playa Paco, breaks into song and is applauded by everyone!!! A beautiful voice. I so miss Benal. Stay safe all and STAY HOME! Fond regards to all my Forum friends. BT
