Well it does look like lockdown in Spain will be April 26th, cannot see anyone going against Sanchez, will find out Tues/Wed, but with the curve not quite here yet its safety first, we feel sad when listening to Sky news about so many people still losing their lives to this horrible virus, and families cannot be with their loved one's
Still finding it hard to comprehend how quickly this virus spread, and is still spreading, really hope everyone now realises what 'no social contact means' dreading watching news tomorrow as good weather is the forecast and folks will be tempted to go out, heard taking a 5min car ride in UK is allowed, but why not walk and stay near to home or just stay in gardens we cannot even take exercise walk, but keep our spirits up by chatting to neighbours from 6-8ft away..having vid calls from family..even our landlord emails every few days..so all's well for now...
B.T not sure who the singer is, but he does not have a mic and we can just about hear the tone in his voice, he is getting a real applause from us all..
Our neighbours are still checking their emails each day, for news on flights...but have now settled their minds to the fact they will be here until May, we are due home 3rd June, but if offered a rescue flight in May we will be on it..
Keep safe..xx

Some streets in Belfast have been decorated with blue bunting to show support for our NHS workers.

Yes. We love our flegs 🤣. More serious info but still good news The following was taken from thid Facebook page which gives pretty good info www.facebook.com/TomAdmin65English/Corona virus in Spain: Overnight 674 new deaths !! The situation at 11:30 in Spain: currently 130,759 cases and 12,418 deaths Curfew in Spain - From March 15th to April 3rd, 2,692 people were arrested. There are 310,366 fines. Good news because even though there are far too many deaths it's the 3rd day in a row that the numbers have reduced. Hopefully the trend continues. The U K needs to take note and remove the exercise clause from it's restrictions immediately as it's being abused. We are constantly getting radio presenters telling us NOT to go out and that anyone who does NOT live in your house should NOT be in your house and that includes brothers sisters mums dad's and grandparents etc. Having said that it's probably a case of preaching to the converted anyway. Those that go out now will probably continue to flout the law no matter what. Unfortunately fines are needed and then we'll probably have the pc Brigade shouting about human rights 🤔

Hi All
Hope you are all safe and well, Robert I love the blue flags, at least the front line workers know how much they are valued, so sad deaths are rising all around us, here in Spain the figures were up this morning on new cases and deaths, but also up on 'recoveries'..
Cannot understand folks in UK & Belfast not adhering to the stay in stay safe rule..but as mentioned Robert the one's with sense already are, but it's the idiots that will continue to do as they please and risks more spread of the virus..and now the P.M has it, but off ventilator, so hopefully he will get well..
We have just seen on Benal website that Jet2 have cancelled all flights until June 17th, our flight was for June 3rd...no email received yet to cancel flights but expect we will get one in a few days, so will have to follow what they say, not sure how many folks still stuck out here from this month or next, so June flyers will be last in the queue..
Hope you are all getting food stuff okay and panic buying has now stopped, here stores all okay, gloves & distance still in order, although Mas yesterday had no gloves we had to use small plastic bags, not ideal had to struggle to keep them on!
We still have our nightly 8pm clap for all frontline workers, even the police join in with horns blasting...and we still have our singer, hope we get to meet him when all this ends.. Stay in Stay safe..xxx

Hi Rosebush. So pleased to see you on the Forum! We had heard about Jet2 cancelling flights until June 17th and EasyJet are doing the same but not sure about a definite date. I bet it seems a long way off. Shops appear to be getting back to normal and the empty shelves and panic buying is a bit of a distant (and very unpleasant) memory. I tend to stick to my small butcher and greengrocer who ensure shoppers adhere to the rules. So pleased you have continued the nightly applause. Saw a lovely video on Olive Press's website of Police Officers/security officers, singing Happy Birthday to a little girl in Estepona. More tears BT!!! Keep in touch Rosebush, and any other Benal lovers!! BT. X

Pleased to say Benal still remains like a ghost town, and we still applause every night at 8pm, and our singer is still there giving us a song, don't know who the guy is, but would love to meet him at some point..

I belong to a neighbourhood forum and today read about two parties last night in a nearby village and a barbecue being planned for tonight. I've told folk to call the Police. I am aghast at people's stupidity. Keep safe and well dear Forum friends, Kind regards, BT. X

Taken from the Olive Press.
" COVID-19: SPAIN’S ANDALUCIA PLANS TO OPEN SHOPS FROM MAY 11 AND BARS AND RESTAURANTS FROM MAY 25 His regional government’s proposals also included provisions to allow funerals without a wake to take place from May 18
By Charlie Smith - 26 Apr, 2020 @ 16:05 THE President of the Junta de Andalucia has said he wants to reopen the region’s shops, bars and restaurants in May.
Juanma Moreno has proposed letting small businesses like shops, hairdressers and nail salons open their doors again on May 11.
Meanwhile, he set May 25 as the target date to get Andalucian bars and restaurants back up and running.
His regional government’s proposals also included provisions to allow funerals without a wake to take place from May 18, according to Europa Press.
The PP Junta leader announced the plans this afternoon following a video call with the Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
Speaking at Sevilla’s Palacio de San Telmo, Moreno said he had tabled the proposals with the Ministry of Health.
The announcement comes as it was revealed that from May 2 adults will be able to leave isolation for individual exercise".
Of course I'd imagine that this will depend on how well the latest changes are adherred to and is also dependant on the number of deaths and new infections. Time will tell but I guess it could be possibly considered a positive step.

Thanks, Robert.
Seems a bit of a double edged sword. For the sake of all our friends in Benal (residents and bar owners) I hope this can be achieved but likewise, I hope this plan is not dangerously optimistic.
Stay safe.

From N332 Facebook page. The President of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, announces in a press conference the measures for de-escalation approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers today. This is an overview of what he has announced: Sánchez makes clear that there will be no fixed dates for certain phases of the de-escalation, decisions will be made every two weeks, and each phase will last for a minimum of 2 weeks, more if necessary. Everything will be gradual and coordinated. All will depend on the evolution of COVID-19. The phases will be the same in every region/area/territory of Spain, but will be taken at different speeds depending on the evolution of the virus. The de-escalation will be 4 phases. We are currently in phase 0. If all goes as planned, Spain will be in the ‘new normality’ by the end of June. Currently, movement between regions/provinces/islands in Spain will not be allowed. On May 4th the de-escalation will begin in some islands such as La Graciosa, El Hierro and La Gomera in the Canary Islands or Formentera in the Balearic Islands, which will go directly to phase 1. The other territories will have to wait until May 11th to see if they can jump or not to that phase. Phase 0: Preparation and planning. Certain businesses will re-open with an appointment system. Restaurants will be able to prepare ‘takeaways’, in which customers can collect their order. Exercise and walks, with those who you live with, allowed 2nd May, maybe with staged time slots, etc. More details to come. Phase 1: Open small businesses. There will be schedules/time slots for elderly. Terraces of bars/restaurants 30% capacity, always with sufficient social distances (at least 2 metres). Hotels and tourist accommodation can open (under certain measures, e.g. no common areas allowed open), also 30%. Religious sites can open, 30% capacity, always with sufficient social distances. Funerals permitted (under certain measures). The use of masks in public transport will be highly recommended. Phase 2: Inside of restaurants/bars can open, 30% capacity, social distancing, only table service. Schools will re-open in September for most students, but different measures will be taken for those with children under 6 years old, in which both parents work, also there may also be measures for re-enforcement classes for those most vulnerable students, also for EBAU students, bachillerato, etc. Cinemas, theatres etc may open, 30% capacity, social distancing. Also expositions and meeting rooms. Religious sites 50% capacity. Phase 3: Easing of movement between different territories. Restaurants/bars 50% capacity, social distancing. When there is a BOE (official government document) released, we will work on translating and publishing it. Within that document there will be more specific details. Regarding the walks/exercise for the rest of the population, we hope that more specific details will be published this week by the government and we will translate and publish. This is all the information we have currently, announced live in a press conference today 28th April by Pedro Sanchez, President of Spain. Translation by Phoebe Liddiard
