Rose, it was good to hear that you finally experienced a ‘normal’ evening after all this time. For those of us back home it’s difficult to picture the slow awakening of this place we love so much.
We’ve cancelled four UK breaks during lockdown so far and are due to have a short break in Germany in August. Things seem to improving over there but we will wait as long as we can before reaching a final decision as to whether we want to travel or not.

Good to hear from you Rosebush! I've been looking at the Spanish press and see so many pictures of the stupid Brits ignoring all the advice and guidelines in the UK. Won't be at all surprised if we are the last to be allowed in. And so pleased you managed to have a lovely evening out. I still go on to the local webcams and note that there still aren't lots of people in the streets. Lovely and warm in Essex. Shame we can't go anywhere except the back garden but I have the pleasure of watching the birds feeding the fledglings!
My Mum (Nanny Nine Lives!)is leaving the Care Home to return to her own home next week!! She's been clear of symptoms for over a week but is still locked in her room with little fresh air and no exercise. We think she'd be better off in a Women's prison! Our daughter is going to be moving in with her and will be able to continue working remotely. Give Benal a virtual hug for me please!!! Take care and keep safe. Fond regards to you both, BT. X

Brilliant news about your mum. At least she will have company and a lot more freedom at home and will feel more relaxed in familiar surroundings.

Morning Folks
B.T so very pleased your Dear Mom is fully recovered and going home she must be so happy, bless your Daughter for staying with her to help out, at least that will give you peace of mind..xx
Things in Benal changing daily, more little shops open and cafe bars, El Cordero open now and OK will open today..
As Robert mentioned Phase 2 here on Monday when bars can open 'indoor' tables at 40% capacity and both loo's
The main beach road has been divided on each side into single lanes by red cones, presume one for cars and one for bikes, lots of work on the beach with diggers and workmen, pathways going down with railings, it also appears sun beds will be set 2mts apart, and tapered off, so you keep to your space, 3000 beach managers employed who will work with life guards and local police, to keep everyone safe ( ie keep distance)
One thing I do notice now is the noise! until 10days ago it was just the bird song however still quiet for now, until we can move from Province to Province and then sure lots of Spanish will come down to the coast, and hopefully help all of the business's survive, until foreign travellers allowed in, think sadly the Brits will be last.
Used the bus yesterday first time in 3mths, you have to pay by card only, have to use just the window seats, and every other row is empty, plus limited service, came home on train, and same set up..Used cab down to apt and drivers wearing masks, as per the law..
Robert I hope you are doing okay at the store, and by now that you have some income from the Government, as I did hear this would happen for self employed but with lots of red tape!
Neil think you are wise in taking time to reach a decision about coming over, maybe in a months time things will look a bit better, but its horrible having to wear a mask in this heat, if we cannot keep 2mts distance...and with more folks here we know the 2mts distance will be hard to keep, so it will be mask at all times...but "a mask is better than a ventilator"
Stay Safe..x

Hi Folks,
Has anyone seen on FB the pic's of the new road lay out on the main road, one side for 2way traffic, that will cause major hold ups the other side for bikes and pedestrians, ie you walk in the middle of the road or on footpath this gains you 2mt distance, and centre 2 lanes are for two bike traffic.. think I will were possible use the paseo!! xx

This has been introduced as a temporary measure although I'm not sure how long for. The road has been reduced for vehicular traffic to one side only between the Sunset Beach Club roundabout and the roundabout at 24 hr Square.

The new system had me walking against the arrows this morning had to walk in middle of road to comply with rules, felt really odd, bet once folks get used to it.. things will change back, but that will be a good sign
B.T hope your Mom enjoys her freedom at home in her garden tomorrow and all goes well..x
SOE ends here in Spain on June 21st one week earlier than stated, so looks like Sanchez got things right, we had brandy coffee to celebrate, so well done Spain..
Felt so sad again to see UK recorded 113 deaths today, pray figures are less tomorrow and this is not just 'part' weekend figure..don't know what's happening in UK but the measures are not working Spain will not let the brits in while UK is so unsafe, and so many waiting to come over for their holidays..xx
Stay Safe..xx

I'm working flat out and kind of miss not having the time to do things around the house. But at least there's some more money coming in to the house to help keep the wolves at bay 🤣.
As Rosebush has said the President has confirmed tonight that he will ask for one last extension which will take us to the 21st June. From then live will return to the "new normal" with no restrictions on movement and international tourism beginning on the 1st July........ Watch this space.

Robert pleased you are coping working really odd shift hours, hope the work continues until things get better and you can return to your normal business
We are watching daily news for UK flights into Malaga, and our neighbours have booked flights from there with Easyjet first week in July back to Manchester, but I feel we will have to fly from Gib to Heathrow to get back home, which we plan for July 3rd, hope UK death figures start to fall and all new cases survive covid... xx
B.T hope your dear Mom is home and enjoying space around her, so pleased weather is good so far..
Take care.xx

Well, that was an unexpected turn of events. Last Sunday Mrs N mentioned an unpleasant aroma near the house which I couldn’t smell. I know this is one of the possible symptoms of the virus so I booked a test. Had the test on Monday morning and received an email yesterday saying I had the virus.
At 7.30 am this morning I was contacted by the NHS tracing team. 30 minutes later they contacted Mrs N to tell her to self-isolate for 14 days. Can’t fault the service.
